What We're Building
At Mustard Seed Labs, our mission is to develop tools to equip Christians to bring about the Kingdom of God boldly, effectively, at scale, and across denominations.
With our first project, Fig Tree, we aim to build Christians who answer the bible's call to proactively move boldly in the world, bringing about God's kingdom in their spheres of influence. To reach the most Christians, and to be most effective, we need your help. We want to engage with you about your personal experiences, challenges, and successes in living out the Word. We want to know what works, what doesn’t work, what you need, and what you already have. Each lesson learned directly contributes to Fig Tree’s design, and goes to equip Christians like you.

Behind the Name "Fig Tree"
In the Gospels of Matthew and Mark, the disciples come upon a fig tree on the side of the road. By all external indicators, it’s a perfectly healthy fig tree. And yet, it bears no fruit. The result? Jesus curses the fig tree, and the fig tree shrivels up and dies! Most interpretations of this passage, as well as related passages come back to a core principle: While the fig tree looked healthy on the outside, it didn’t bear any fruit. Additionally, throughout Jesus’s ministry, He condemns the Pharisees for their wrong actions and inactions despite being theological experts, while instead praising average people for their actions and faith, many of whom had only just met Him.
Christians aren’t just expected to know the Bible. Christians are expected to act. The core aim of Fig Tree is to find and remove the barriers inhibiting Christian action, so that the faith of every single Christian bears fruit.
